Privacy Policy

Comusik · Effective date: October 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Comusik (“Comusik,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to comusik.com and the Comusik platform (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. The short version

  • We collect the information you give us to run your account, plus basic usage data.

  • Our database contains business contact information for music industry professionals and the companies and brands that work with them. We build it from research and verification, not from private data.

  • We never sell your personal information.

  • If you appear in our database and want your information removed or corrected, email us and we will act on it.

2. Information we collect

From members (people who sign up)

  • Account details: name, work email, company, and password or Google sign-in details.

  • Billing details: plan, billing history, and payment information. Payments are handled by our billing provider and its payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.

  • Content you create: saved contacts, notes, deal pipeline entries, and team activity.

  • Connected mailbox data: if you connect a Gmail, Outlook, or other mailbox so you can email contacts from Comusik, we access the data needed to send your messages and show activity such as sent, replied, opened, and clicked. We only use this data to provide those features.

  • Messages and requests: anything you send us through support or custom contact requests.

From our contact database (people listed in it)

  • Business contact details such as name, job title, company, work email, work phone number, and professional social media handle.

  • We gather and verify this information through our own research, manual review, and cross-referencing of publicly available and professional sources.

  • We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as health, financial, or government ID details) about people in the database.

Collected automatically

  • Device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and actions taken in the Service.

  • Cookies and similar technologies used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service, including search, saved contacts, outreach tools, and the deal pipeline.

  • Create and manage accounts, process payments, and provide support.

  • Verify and update the accuracy of our contact database.

  • Send service messages such as receipts, security alerts, and product updates. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.

  • Detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service, and keep the Service secure.

  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Your mailbox data

If you connect a mailbox, we use that access only to send emails you choose to send, and to display sent, reply, open, and click activity inside your account. We do not read your email for advertising, and we do not sell or share it for advertising. We do not use your mailbox data to train AI models. You can disconnect your mailbox at any time, and we will stop accessing it.

5. How we share information

We share information only in these situations:

  • Service providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting and website providers, database and backend infrastructure, membership and billing tools, email connectivity providers, and analytics. They may only use your information to perform services for us.

  • Your team: if you use team features, saved contacts and notes you choose to share are visible to your teammates.

  • Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Comusik, our members, or others.

  • Business transfers: if Comusik is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. We will notify you if this happens.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep the Service working and, where applicable, analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Service from working.

7. Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it by law. Contact records in our database are kept while they remain accurate and relevant, and are removed on request as described below.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate information.

  • Delete your information.

  • Object to or restrict certain uses of your information.

  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format.

  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it).

  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

To make a request, email us at the address in Section 13. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within the time required by law.

If you are listed in our database

If your business contact information appears in Comusik and you want it removed, corrected, or limited, email us with your name and the details you want changed. We will review and act on your request promptly, and we will not charge you.

9. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the rights listed in Section 8. In the past 12 months we have collected the categories of information described in Section 2, for the purposes described in Section 3, and disclosed them to the service providers described in Section 5. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law. You can use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

10. Users outside the United States

Comusik is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored there. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or elsewhere, we process your information based on our legitimate interests in operating a business contact database and Service, on your consent where required, and to perform our contract with you. By using the Service, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong password and keep your login details private.

12. Children

The Service is intended for business users and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
